After hitting the concrete wall in the rain at Pukekohe in November, AJ has been on a massive learning curve.
His Suzuki Swift Sport Cup car was badly damaged.
He competed in another car loaned to him by Winger Subaru, for Round 2 at Ruapuna Park Raceway in Christchurch. Thanks goes to Thames businesses Valley Panelbeaters,Winstone Glass,G & C Finishers ,Aegis Oil Company .Thames Towing and Suzuki New Zealand, who managed to have the 87 car brand new by Round 3 at the A1 Grand Prix meeting at Taupo.
As he is only 13 years of age, each racetrack is a new experience, but by the time raceday arrives he is out there battling like a pro.Round 4 was Manfield near Palmerston North.AJ was 5th on overall points at this stage.
Next came Levels Raceway in Timaru (thanks to Hauraki Plains College for the time from school) then last weekend was Teretonga Raceway in Invercargill.
His racing has improved tremendously.
As the only totally inexperienced driver in a field of 11 cars he is today holding 6th place overall in the A Class Championship.
Watch out for an interview with Clint Brown on the Fujitsu sport Programme on Sky TV in April.
